Facility Operations Specialist

This position is responsible for facility management and risk management functions of the park and reports directly to the Site Manager. It manages the Park's Facility Management Software System and provides technical and professional asset management support to achieve park goals and objectives. Manage Park's facility asset management system to determine and perform asset identification, inventory collection, condition assessments, cost estimates, work order generation, and compile life cycle information. Serve as a Contractor Officer Representative to manage all aspects of facility and other park related contracts. Assist with work planning and reporting, meeting environmental and cultural compliance requirements. Performs hands-on maintenance work in the areas of carpentry, painting, plumbing, and grounds maintenance in and around historic structures and landscapes. Serves as the park's collateral duty safety officer serving as primary resource for safety issues and education, coordinating and conducting safety inspections and training. Writes or revises park safety documents. All qualifications must be met by the closing date of this announcement-12/09/2019-unless otherwise stated in this vacancy announcement. Credit will be given for all appropriate qualifying experience. To qualify for this position at the GS-09 grade level, you must possess at least one of the following minimum qualifications by close of the announcement:
Experience:
At least one full year of specialized experience comparable in scope and responsibility to the GS-07 grade level in the Federal service (obtained in either the public or private sectors). This experience includes activities such as:
preparing and managing asset condition assessments by identifying, planning and recording in a software system, such as the Facility Management Software System (FMSS), annual work planning, and operations and maintenance cost data, deferred maintenance detailed facility inventory, and condition data; developing and monitoring a facility management program and asset documentation; planning maintenance activities and preventative maintenance programs monitoring construction and maintenance operations performed by a variety of private contractors, including supervising operations for conformance with project plans; assisting in the development of project objectives; tracing project work plans and budget; asset identification and inventory including condition assessment, cost estimating, work order generation, and life cycle information AND performing minor carpentry, painting, plumbing, cleaning and landscaping duties using power tools and equipment. You must include hours per week worked. -OR- EDUCATION:
Successful completion of at least a master's degree OR equivalent graduate degree OR two full years of graduate level education leading to a master's degree with a major in a field of study that is directly related to the work of the position, which demonstrates possession of the knowledge, skills, and abilities needed to do the work of this position. Directly related graduate study include one of the following fields:
engineering, industrial arts, property management, or business administration. The fraudster will send a check to the victim who has accepted a job. The check can be for multiple reasons such as signing bonus, supplies, etc. The victim will be instructed to deposit the check and use the money for any of these reasons and then instructed to send the remaining funds to the fraudster. The check will bounce and the victim is left responsible.
